Free Government Appliances In Oregon

Posted November 19th, 2013 in Oregon Appliances by admin

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is federally funded through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and is not an entitlement program. LIHEAP is an assistance program designed to help low-income households obtain free or low cost home heating.

To be eligible, a household’s income must be at or below 60 percent of Oregon’s median income. These levels are based on household income and household size. To be eligible, a household must also have documented energy costs. Both homeowner and renter households are eligible. OHCS uses a system of subgrantee agencies to determine applicant eligibility and delivery of services. Applications are made through your local Community Action Agency or a local senior service agency.
