The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides winter heating, energy crisis, summer cooling and/or weatherization and other energy-related home repair assistance to eligible low-income households throughout each year during specific application periods.
This unit, in cooperation with the federal government, provides seasonal assistance to low-income households to assist with winter heating bills, and to provide help for some families who have received utility cut-off notices. OKDHS contracts with the Oklahoma Dept. of Commerce to provide weatherization services for eligible families. Applications are taken at local OKDHS Human Services Centers.
